Third annual Winter Fashion Show a success

Athletes and other high school students strutted down the lighted runway at the Willits Community Center last week for the third annual Winter Fashion Show. Families and community members attended the event, cheering each model as they went by.

Put on by the Willits High School Boosters Club, the event was held to raise money for the club and two scholarships in honor of Kayla Chesser, who died tragically on Nov. 1. Donna Rice, who helped create the first event with her daughter, said they raised about $1,500 for two senior scholarships.

At the event, held on Saturday, Nov. 22, models wore clothing donated from local boutiques, wearing everything from brands like Carhartt to selections by JD Redhouse. Bridgett Summers, a member of the Boosters, said the event went well and was a great experience for students.
